It’s the end of week 2 at Empire Beauty School in Lehigh Valley. It seems like I’ve been here for a month because we’ve learned so much in just 2 weeks. I’m already cutting hair. On December 29th we will be giving a live model a haircut of our choice for our final grade in pre-salon hair cutting. I’m cutting my Mom’s hair. We’re deciding between two styles – it’s a surprise so check back after Christmas for the before and after photos.
This post is my second design as a beauty school student. The first? Super Straight.
Courtney’s new look will be the windblown bob. It’s a cut with the fullness and volume of a classic bob. We’ll texture it to give it a fuller, flowy look. As a beauty school student, our cut isn’t as textured as much as the original photo (below Courtney) because we have a lot of other haircuts to do on Courtney. Obviously, her hair doesn’t grow back.
We scissor cut the back and razor cut the front (I love using the razor.) I’m very happy with the result of her hair; I curled it in the pictures below with nothing more than a round brush and a blow dryer, in case you’re wondering.
Next up for Courtney – the light and airy layered squeeze cut.

Don’t you just love that Windblown Bob! It is so easy, and I love to airform it after. Way to go girl! Keep up the good work!
I got some bad news for myself. It appears I may have to drop due to medical reasons, I have had over 15 surgeries on my arm and number 17 is forceing me to forego my dreams, so I will be watching and living vicariously through you. I wish you the best.
Aww Lesa I’m sorry to hear that! Good luck and I hope all goes well with your arm!
