The Best First Day Surprise: Beauty School Supply Kit

In the last blog, I let you know how awesome it was to meet my teachers.  Empire Beauty School did such a great job helping me feel welcome on my first day … but …

I left you all in suspense by not telling you about the very best thing on my first day of school.  I received my student supply kit!  Those boxes lining the room that I referred to were our kits waiting to be unpacked.  (You didn’t think boxes just sit around Empire Beauty School, did you?)

The teachers provided a checklist to make sure we had all of our supplies.  Woot woot! With that, I got let loose on all my awesome beauty school student supplies.

This post cannot express my excitement to open those two big boxes.   All my beauty school supplies are the one I’ll be using for my next several months of class; they’re kind of a big deal.   It’s like Christmas for beauty school students!  Or Chrismahanakwanza if you aren’t sure what to call it otherwise …

The first box had all 5 mannequin heads and 8 of our CLiC textbooks.

The second box was twice the size of the first one.  It was stuffed with brushes, combs and clips.  There’s a scissor pack which was beautifully packaged in it’s own fold up case.  Two tote bags, butterfly clips, rollers, perm rods, hair extensions, a blow dryer, a hair straightener, a curling iron, and buzz clippers, oh, my.  I’m sure I forgot something because I’m so overwhelmed.  I can’t believe I’m going to learn how to use all these awesome beauty tools.

Beauty School Kit

The above are just some of the tools that will make us successful in applying the theory we learn.  Empire Beauty School gives us the tools: what we do with them is up to us.  Over the next year or so, I’ll learn how to use all the products in my beauty school student kit.  I’ll also use the CLiC system to see videos then practically apply what I learn.

My teachers remind us of the most important advice of all.  We’ve been given the tools but what we do with the tools is what matters.  Success is also about our attitude.  Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.

I remember my first day of school very well. I was so nervous. I am a 48 year old woman who is starting all over again. I had to learn to read, write and talk all over again from a stroke that I had nearly a year before.
I remember feeling “what am I doing here with all these young “kids”?” but they adopted me as their “classroom momma”, I have to admit that made it easier and I was flattered. After opening the kit boxes, I was so excited too. It helped me to realize that I had make a good decision to come to school.
I have been through pre-salon and 360. I found a “happy place” for me going through this. Its a whole different ballgame on the floor, like a new adventure.
I wish you the best and I will be following you. Above all, have fun with what you do.

  6. sira says:

Do u get to take ur kit home an keep?

    • Nina {Empire Beauty School Student} says:

Hi there! The kit is yours but they suggest not taking items home so that nothing gets lost. Because in Pennsylvania (I don’t know about other states) but we are required to have mostly all of the items in our kit with us at school at all times. If not you can get fined by the state. What state do you go to school in?
