First day of beauty school

It’s finally my first day at Empire Beauty School.  Everyone at Empire has been so awesome, I’m not as nervous as I thought I’d be.  I sat down with Kelley a few times.  Then, I went to an orientation where I met all my teachers.  How much more prepared could I be?  It’s time to learn to cut hair!

There she was again: Kelley was waiting at the door with a smile.  I really like my school. Everyone is so nice.  I’m really comfortable here.  The classroom that will be my home for the next 12 weeks is big.   The tables made a U-shape and there were boxes lining the room.

I took my seat.  We went around the room introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. The students in my class now will be with me for the next 12 weeks in a class called pre-salon.

The second best part of the day was watching “Frankly Speaking,” where the president of Empire Education Group interviewed professionals in the beauty industry.  The professionals, like Nick Arrojo, tell their stories, from beauty school to where they are today.  Sometimes in life you don’t realize how hard someone had to work to get where they are.  Boy did some of these celebrities have it tough!

It was very inspiring to realize how much hard work and dedication a successful beauty career requires.  Clearly, though, attending the right beauty school really helped guys like Nick Arrojo get where they are today. I’m going to have to work hard, but I’m ready for the challenge.  I know, with the support of Empire, I can be a successful salon professional.  Hoo ya! Go me!

And the BEST part of the day… will be in my next post.  Yup.  You better check back, because it’s so awesome it needs its own post!
